Editor, Independent Feature Film
Hey filmmakers, I'm helping an independent production find a talented editor for an upcoming dramatic feature film. This project is a poignant character study set in rural Quebec, exploring themes of family, loss, and resilience. It's a beautifully written script with strong performances that will require a sensitive touch in the edit. We're looking for someone to help shape the narrative, manage pacing, and contribute creatively to the final cut. Key responsibilities include assembling daily footage, managing media, incorporating sound and music, and collaborating closely with the director. We're open to all experience levels, from emerging talent to seasoned professionals, as long as you have a strong storytelling sensibility and a solid reel demonstrating your editing skills, preferably on narrative work. You'll need to have your own editing station (software and hardware) for this role. We're aiming for principal photography to wrap in late summer, with editing to commence shortly after for approximately 4-6 weeks, six days a week. We'll provide a comfortable work environment in Montreal (flexible on location, can be remote for initial stages), and a per diem for meals. Compensation is $150-300 per day, depending on experience. Please send your resume and a link to your reel. Excited to see your work!
