Editing for Documentary
We're looking for a talented entry-level editor for an upcoming independent documentary feature. This film explores the fascinating world of niche collecting communities, focusing on the passion, dedication, and sometimes eccentricities of these individuals. It’s an intimate, character-driven piece with a warm, slightly quirky tone. Your main responsibility will be assembling raw footage into compelling narrative sequences, selecting the best takes, refining pacing, and contributing creatively to the storytelling process. We'll be working in Adobe Premiere Pro so proficiency there is a must. You should have a strong understanding of documentary editing principles and a keen eye for detail. While this is an entry-level position, a solid reel showcasing your previous editing work (student films, shorts, or even personal projects) is crucial. We anticipate editing to begin in late September and continue for approximately 8-10 weeks, working Monday through Friday, 9am-5pm. Our editing suite is located in Los Angeles, California. We’ll provide all necessary equipment (editing workstation, software, etc.). This is a paid position, offering $500-800 per day, depending on experience. Please send your resume and a link to your reel.
