Art Assistant (Set Dec) - Sci-Fi Short Film

Hey Vancouver film fam, Chris here (a Grip, by the way). We're looking for an enthusiastic Art Assistant with a knack for set dressing to join our independent sci-fi short film project. Think 'Black Mirror' meets 'Her' with a touch of surrealism, exploring themes of technology and human connection. It's a visually driven piece, so the art department is critical to bringing our world to life. Your primary role will involve assisting the Production Designer with set decoration, prop management, and general art department support on set. This includes sourcing, organizing, and helping to set up our various futuristic and atmospheric elements. We’re really aiming for a unique, slightly retro-futuristic aesthetic. We're seeking someone with some art department experience, even if it's just student film work. A positive attitude and willingness to learn are key. Unfortunately, this is a passion project so we can't offer payment, but it’s a great opportunity to get set experience and expand your reel. We aren't asking you to bring any specific gear, just your creative eye and a good work ethic. Shoot dates are approximately late October to early November, likely 3-4 days in total, and we'll provide meals and transportation during production.
