Art Department for Documentary

Documentary Art Department Los Angeles, CA any Budget: $250/day flat

Hey everyone, I'm Sierra (Hair Department Head) and I'm helping crew-up an upcoming independent documentary project in Los Angeles. We're looking for a proactive and creative Art Assistant to join our small, super dedicated team. This film explores the vibrant, underground world of competitive dog grooming, it's a really visually rich and fascinating subject. As our Art Assistant, you'll be assisting the Art Director with set dressing, prop procurement and management, and general support in creating the visual aesthetic for the film. You'll be helping to ensure our documentary frames are visually engaging and authentic. This is a great opportunity for someone looking to get hands-on experience on a unique project. No specific gear is required, just a can-do attitude and ability to problem-solve. Some previous experience in an art department role, even student or short film work, is a plus, but we're open to all experience levels. A portfolio or examples of your creative work would be great to see. Shoot dates are approximate but will be spread across 4-5 non-consecutive days in late June/early July. We're offering a flat rate of $250/day. Meals and craft services will be provided on set. Please send over your resume and a brief introduction about yourself and why you're interested in this project. Looking forward to hearing from you!
