Assistant Editor, Feature Film (Toronto)

Hey everyone, I'm working on a compelling independent feature film, a character-driven drama with elements of a psychological thriller. It's an intimate story, exploring complex relationships and internal struggles, and we're looking for a motivated Assistant Editor to join our post-production team here in Toronto. This project has a tight-knit crew and promises to be something special. You'll be responsible for organizing and syncing footage, creating dailies, managing media, and preparing timelines for the editor. We also need you to assist with sound design rough cuts and basic visual effects placeholders. Experience with DaVinci Resolve is a huge plus, but proficiency with Adobe Premiere Pro is also perfectly acceptable. We're open to entry-level candidates who are eager to learn and have a strong work ethic. While we don't require you to own specific gear, access to a reliable editing workstation would be an asset for occasional remote work. This is an opportunity to get substantial feature film credits and work hands-on from the ground up. We're anticipating post-production to begin in late fall and continue for several months, with flexible hours. This is a partnership compensation arrangement (revenue share), ideal for someone looking to invest in a quality project for significant backend participation.
