Picture Editor (Deferred) - Sci-Fi Pilot

Hey filmmakers, Layla here. We're looking for a talented Picture Editor to join our independent sci-fi pilot. This isn't your average space opera, it's a gritty, character-driven story exploring themes of survival and ethical dilemmas in a post-apocalyptic world. We shot it guerrilla-style and it's got some really unique visuals we're excited to see come together. Your main responsibilities will be assembling raw footage into a compelling narrative, finessing pacing, and collaborating closely with our director to realize their vision. We're also looking for someone who can help with rough cuts of visual effects elements before they go to the VFX team. We need someone with senior-level experience in narrative editing, a strong storytelling sense, and proficiency with established editing software (Premiere Pro, DaVinci Resolve, or Avid). Please have a reel demonstrating your dramatic work. While we're not providing gear, we also don't expect you to have an entire post-production suite, just your own editing setup. This is a points-based, deferred compensation role, but we're confident in the project's potential. We anticipate editorial work to begin in late September/early October, likely 20-30 hours a week for about 6-8 weeks. Coffee and good vibes provided!
