B Cam/2nd AC for Sci-Fi Short (Paid)

Hey everyone, I'm Derek, a 1st AC, and I'm currently crewing up for a fantastic sci-fi short film. It's a suspenseful, character-driven story with some cool practical effects, exploring themes of isolation and discovery. We're looking for a skilled B Cam Operator/2nd AC to join our small, dedicated team. You'll be assisting me directly, helping with camera builds, slate, lens changes, and pulling focus on B cam, ensuring everything runs smoothly. We need someone with a strong understanding of camera mechanics and set etiquette. You must own your own full camera kit suitable for B cam work (e.g., Blackmagic Pocket 6K Pro, Canon C70, etc.) and have experience working on independent productions. Please have a current reel or work samples ready. This is a paid position, $100-200 per 10-hour day, depending on experience. We're shooting in Los Angeles over 4-5 days, tentatively late July/early August. Lunch and snacks will be provided on set. Looking forward to seeing your submissions!
