1st AC, Feature Film (Deferred Pay) - Minneapolis

Hey filmmakers, I'm Sara, a Post-Production Supervisor on an exciting independent feature film shooting in Minneapolis, and we're looking for a skilled 1st Assistant Camera to join our crew. This project is a gritty psychological thriller, exploring themes of isolation and redemption, with a visually driven narrative. It's a challenging story that will give our crew plenty of creative ground to explore. As our 1st AC, you'll be responsible for maintaining focus, pulling focus during takes, and assisting the DP with lens changes and camera setup. We expect you to be meticulous with camera prep and breakdown, ensuring all equipment is in top working order. We’re open to all experience levels, but a strong understanding of camera mechanics and a keen eye for detail are essential. Please have your own follow focus, matte box, and basic camera toolkit. A reel or portfolio demonstrating your work is definitely a plus. This is a deferred pay position, common for independent productions like ours, meaning compensation will be provided once the film secures distribution. We anticipate shooting for approximately 15-20 days, roughly 10-12 hours per day, across August and September, with specific dates TBD. Meals and craft services will be provided on set.
