Colorist, Doc Feature (Vancouver)
Hey everyone, Alana here, a VFX Compositor working on an exciting independent documentary feature. We're looking for a sharp mid-level colorist to join our team for a few weeks of grading. This film explores the vibrant, underdog spirit of Vancouver's indie music scene, focusing on a pivotal year. The tone is raw, energetic, and hopeful, with some really intimate moments. We've got a lot of mixed footage, from archival to interviews to live performances, so a keen eye for consistency and enhancing mood through color is key. Your main gig will be conforming our rushes, doing primary and secondary grades, and helping us establish a cohesive look across the diverse media, all while respecting the film's gritty, authentic feel. Experience with DaVinci Resolve is a must, and familiarity with different camera codecs (Arri, Sony, Blackmagic) is definitely a plus. Please have a strong reel that demonstrates your narrative coloring skills. We're aiming for grading to start in late August, early September, likely a flexible 2-3 week commitment, about 8-hour days. We'll provide the workstation and all necessary software licenses, of course. This is a paid position, offering $100-200 per day, depending on experience. Excited to see your work!
