Colorist, Documentary Feature (Remote OK)

Documentary Color Grading 🌍 Remote entry Budget: $300-500/day

We're looking for an entry-level Colorist to join our independent documentary feature film team. This project delves into the untold stories of immigrant communities in NYC, with a visually rich, observational style. We've got compelling footage and are excited to see it come alive with your grading touch, ensuring a natural, authentic aesthetic that serves the narrative without being overtly stylized. Think subtle enhancement, not drastic transformation. Your main responsibilities will be ingesting footage, performing primary and secondary color correction, and delivering final graded sequences. You'll need to have your own color grading software (DaVinci Resolve preferred) and the necessary hardware, including a calibrated monitor. While this is an entry-level position, a strong reel showcasing your understanding of color theory and narrative application is crucial. We're looking for someone with a good eye and a collaborative spirit. This is a remote-friendly position, though we're based in New York, NY. Specific session dates are flexible but we're aiming to begin post-production within the next 2-3 weeks. We anticipate about 5-7 full days of work over a month, at a rate of $300-500 per day, depending on experience. We'll provide all necessary project files and communication will be primarily virtual. This is a great opportunity to get a feature film credit and work on a meaningful project. Please include a link to your reel when applying.
