Camera Operator, Documentary (Cape Town)

Documentary Camera Cape Town, ZA any Budget: $150-300/day

Hey filmmakers, I'm Aisha, a director working on an upcoming independent documentary about the vibrant street art scene in Cape Town. It's a visually driven project, capturing the energy of the artists and their work, and we're looking for a sharp Camera Operator to join our small, passionate crew. This isn't a sit-down interview kind of doc, more observational and vérité, so we need someone who can move with the action and capture the candid moments that make this city so unique. Your primary responsibility will be operating the main camera, ensuring we get great, stable footage that tells our story. We're open to working with individuals at any experience level, as long as you have a good eye and a willingness to collaborate. Crucially, you'll need to provide your own camera package, preferably a mirrorless or DSLR setup capable of shooting high-quality video, along with basic lenses, a tripod, and any necessary audio accessories for sync sound (we'll have a dedicated sound recordist). Please share your reel or relevant work demonstrating your operating skills when you apply. Shoot dates are approximate, probably for about 10-15 days spread across a few weeks in late spring. We anticipate full, but manageable, shoot days. Compensation is $150-300 per day, depending on experience and gear. We'll cover meals and transportation during shoot days. Excited to hear from you.
