Gaffer for Poetic Short Film, Mumbai (Equity)

Seeking a senior Gaffer for a poetic short film shooting in Mumbai, approximately 3 weeks of work in October 2026. This is a partnership opportunity, offering equity in the project. The film explores themes of memory and longing, using a dreamlike visual style, leaning into naturalistic lighting with a touch of magic realism. We aim for a visually rich, emotionally resonant experience. Your expertise will be crucial in shaping the visual mood and enhancing the narrative through sophisticated lighting design. Responsibilities include collaborating closely with the Cinematographer, managing the lighting crew, executing complex lighting setups, and ensuring safety on set. We're looking for someone with significant experience in narrative short or feature films, a strong portfolio showcasing diverse lighting styles, and a solid understanding of current lighting technologies. You should ideally have access to a basic lighting package or be able to source specific equipment efficiently. Please provide a link to your reel or portfolio. Shoot days will be long, typically 10-12 hours. We will provide catering and local transport during the shoot.
