Gaffer for Sci-Fi Short (deferred + points)

Seeking a Gaffer for an independent sci-fi short film shooting in Atlanta, GA, for a 2-day period during the second half of October 2026. Compensation is deferred payment plus points. Our project is a character-driven sci-fi thriller with a dark, atmospheric tone, exploring themes of isolation and artificial intelligence. We're aiming for a high-production-value look on a lean budget, so creative and efficient lighting is key to achieving our visual goals. You will be responsible for executing the lighting plan, managing the grip and electric package, and ensuring all set lighting is safe and effective. We need someone who can work collaboratively with the Director of Photography and the rest of the crew to bring our vision to life. No specific gear is required on your part, as we will be renting a small but capable package. Experience working on short films or independent productions is a plus, but we are open to all experience levels, including passionate newcomers eager to gain set experience.
