Gaffer (Mid), Pilot - NYC

Seeking a talented Gaffer for an independent pilot production shooting in New York City. This drama, with strong comedic undertones, explores the complexities of modern family dynamics, offering a visually rich and character-driven narrative. We need someone who can hit the ground running, bringing creative lighting solutions and a collaborative spirit from day one. Key responsibilities include designing and executing lighting plots, managing a small grip and electric team, ensuring safe equipment operation, and working closely with our DP to achieve the desired aesthetic. You'll be responsible for bringing your own basic G&E kit (stands, stingers, basic diffusion) while specialized equipment (large fixtures, larger distro) will be provided. We expect a mid-level professional with at least 3-5 pilot or short film credits. Please provide a reel or portfolio showcasing your best work. Shoot dates are approximately 10-12 days during the second half of November 2026, with 1-2 prep days prior. Days will be 10-12 hours. Meals, craft services, and local transportation (within NYC) will be provided. Compensation is $500-800 per day, based on experience.
