Gaffer for Supernatural Thriller Short, ATL

A young woman haunted by a spectral presence in her new apartment must uncover its secrets before it consumes her entirely. We're seeking an experienced Gaffer for a suspenseful, character-driven supernatural thriller short film with a dark, intimate tone. This is an independent production focused on strong visuals and atmospheric storytelling. Key responsibilities include designing and executing the lighting plan in collaboration with the DP and Director, managing lighting equipment, and overseeing a small lighting team. You'll ensure the visual mood perfectly complements the narrative tension. We need someone with a strong understanding of lighting for drama and horror, a keen eye for detail, and the ability to work efficiently within a compact set. Please have a portfolio or reel demonstrating your work, particularly on projects with a similar aesthetic. Own kit is a definite plus, though we will have a small lighting package available. This will be a 2-day shoot, currently scheduled for the last week of October 2026, with an additional half-day for prep and scout. Hours will be typical film set hours, likely 10-12 per day. Compensation is backend percentage, clearly defined in a deferment agreement. We value collaboration and a positive set environment.
