Location Scout/Manager, SF Doc

Documentary Locations San Francisco, CA mid Budget: $150-300/day

Hey folks, I'm helping an indie doc team find a talented Location Scout/Manager for an upcoming project based in San Francisco. It's a character-driven documentary exploring some really fascinating local art movements, with a visually rich, observational tone. We're looking for someone who can help us discover and secure unique, visually compelling, and production-friendly locations around the Bay Area, especially those with an authentic, lived-in feel. You'll be responsible for identifying potential locations, conducting surveys, liaising with owners, negotiating access, and managing permits. Experience securing filming permits in SF is a big plus. We'll need you to bring your own vehicle for scouting and basic scouting gear (camera, measuring tape, etc.). We're aiming for principal photography to start around late June/early July, specific dates TBD, but expect around 5-10 shoot days initially, with more potential as needed. Compensation is $150-300 per day, depending on experience and scope. Submit your resume, a reel or portfolio showcasing previous location work, and a brief note on why you're a good fit for a character-focused documentary set in San Francisco. Looking forward to hearing from you!
