Production for Short Film

Looking for a 1st Assistant Camera for a paid, independent short film project shooting in Los Angeles. This is for approximately 3-4 days of work in the second half of October 2026, with an additional 1-2 prep days prior to principal photography. Compensation is $1000-1500 per day. Our upcoming project is a visually driven, gritty sci-fi thriller, exploring themes of surveillance and paranoia in a near-future setting. It's an intense, character-focused story with a stylized, cinematic look. We're aiming for a festival run, so high production value is key. As 1st AC, you'll be responsible for pulling focus, maintaining camera equipment, and assisting the DP with lens changes and camera setup. This role requires precision, attention to detail, and a calm demeanor under pressure. We need someone who can work efficiently on set and anticipate the needs of the camera department. You should have your own kit (e.g., monitor, tape measure, marking tape, cleaning supplies) and be comfortable working with professional cinema cameras (e.g., ARRI, RED). Experience on at least 2-3 short films or similar projects is expected. Please provide a brief resume or list of relevant projects and a contact for references.
