VFX Artist, Sci-Fi Short Film

Hey everyone, I'm a VFX artist myself, and I'm looking for another talented VFX Artist to join our team on an exciting independent sci-fi short film. We're crafting a visually driven piece, exploring themes of artificial intelligence and consciousness. It's got a slightly dark, contemplative tone with some really intriguing visual opportunities. We need someone to help with a variety of tasks, mainly compositing and some 3D tracking. You'll be working closely with me to bring our ambitious visions to life. Key responsibilities include integrating CGI elements into live-action footage, rotoscoping, and potentially some matte painting depending on your skill set. Ideally, you'll have a mid-level of experience in VFX, specifically with Nuke or After Effects for compositing and familiarity with 3D software for tracking (Maya, Blender, etc.). A solid understanding of color grading and continuity is a plus. Please have a strong reel showcasing your best work. While specific shot counts are still being finalized, we anticipate needing around 20-30 hours per week for about 4-6 weeks as we move into post-production. This is a volunteer position, but we'll provide meals during group work sessions and of course, a copy of the finished film for your reel. Looking forward to seeing your work!
