Prelight Plan B: Real-world Adaptations for Steadicam Operators?

Hey everyone, Luc here. I just finished going through a 'Lighting Prelight Strategy' guide, and while it lays out an ideal scenario, I know from experience that sets rarely stay ideal. I'm operating a lot lately, usually on an ALEXA Mini or a V-RAPTOR XL, and even with a great Gaffer, things can get wild. We try to be meticulous; mapping out our routes, planning for a SkyPanel X where we need it, and ensuring our talent marks are clear.

But I'm curious about the flip side. Has anyone been on a project where a really detailed prelight plan just got torpedoed by something unexpected? Maybe a key talent showed up late, a location wasn't what was scouted, or a crucial Forza 720B blew a ballast. How did you and your team adapt on the fly to salvage the schedule and still deliver a solid look without sacrificing the shoot day to endless tweaks?
