Beginner VFX Compositor: Cleaning & Matching Dialogue Pitfalls?

Hey everyone, as a newer VFX Compositor, I'm trying to level up my game, especially when it comes to cleaning up plates and matching elements. I'm currently working on a short film shot on an ALEXA Mini, and a lot of my time is going into trying to seamlessly integrate some practical effects with CG additions, particularly around areas with dialogue. I find myself constantly second-guessing my plate cleaning and then struggling to get my added elements to sit perfectly, especially when there's an actor moving and talking in the foreground. I've tried a few different approaches, but the 'matching' part always feels like it could be smoother.

Thinking back to when you were all starting out, what were some of the most common mistakes you made, especially concerning 'cleaning' and 'matching' dialogue lines? What's one piece of advice you'd give a beginner like me to avoid those pitfalls and make these processes more efficient and visually convincing? Much appreciated!
