Sound Report Workflows: Digital vs. Paper & Post-Production Hacks
Hey fellow creatives, Noah Sterling here. I'm a motion graphics artist, and I've been digging into the best practices for production sound reports, especially for projects I'm involved with that aren't strictly commercial, like a recent short film where we used an ALEXA Mini and a MixPre-10 II. The guides out there cover the 'what,' but I'm curious about the 'how' from a practical, on-set perspective. What's your personal workflow for generating these? Are you fully digital on a tablet with a specific app, or do you still find paper indispensable? And crucially, what's one customization or piece of information you consistently include in your sound reports that has been a game-changer for you in post-production, making life easier when I'm syncing audio to footage shot on a C70 or cleaning up tracks?
