Cue Sheet Workflow: Avoiding the Last-Minute Panic
Hey everyone,
I'm Mei-Lin, a Production Coordinator, and I'm really struggling with the cue sheet process. It consistently feels like a frantic, last-minute scramble right before delivery, and it's stressing me out.
My current project is a short-form docu-series, shot mostly on an AMIRA with a few sequences on a C300 Mark III. We've got a lot of varied music cues and sound design elements, and tracking them all efficiently for the cue sheet has been a nightmare.
I've tried logging music as it's approved by the director, but then sound design gets added, then temp music gets replaced, and it feels like I'm constantly re-doing it. I've also tried waiting until picture lock, but then it's a massive data entry task under immense pressure.
For those of you who've found a better way, how have you personally integrated the creation of the Cue Sheet into your post-production workflow to avoid it becoming a last-minute crisis before delivery?
