Solo Operator Audio Pitfalls & Fixes: Seeking Advice!

Hey everyone, as a Production Coordinator, I'm often juggling a lot and recently had to step in as a solo operator for a small corporate interview, just me, an FX3, and an LS 300x. I'm trying to get better at wearing multiple hats. I came across a guide that boldly stated sound is more critical than image, and it's really stuck with me. While I can frame a decent shot, my audio always feels like the weakest link, even when I'm using a good mic like an MKH 416. What are the most common audio pitfalls beginners, especially solo operators like me, tend to fall into? And more importantly, what are the most effective ways to avoid them when you're the only one on set? Any workflow tips or gear recommendations (beyond the usual shotgun mic) for a single person would be hugely appreciated.
