Balancing Tech & Creativity: World Anvil, Unreal Engine & Personal Projects
Hey everyone, as a Production Coordinator, I'm always looking for ways to streamline my personal worldbuilding and narrative design projects. I’m really into the idea of using World Anvil for detailed lore organization and Unreal Engine for pre-visualization of scenes and environments. I’ve dabbled with both, watching tutorials and trying to build out a small fantasy world for a novel I'm brainstorming.
The problem I'm running into is that I'm spending so much time learning the nuances of these powerful tools that it almost feels like the tech itself is dictating the creative process, rather than serving it. I get bogged down in settings or trying to perfect a texture instead of focusing on story.
For those of you successfully using high-tech tools like World Anvil and Unreal in your personal creative workflows, how do you integrate them without letting the technology overwhelm the creative process itself?
