Airtable/Notion for Location Libraries - Adapting for Specific Regions/Workflows?
Hey everyone,
I've been looking into ways to better organize my scout photos and location notes, especially as I move between different types of projects, from commercials to indie features. I've seen a lot of recommendations for using tools like Airtable or Notion to build personal location libraries.
I've dabbled a bit with Notion, trying to set up databases for different types of locations (residential, commercial, natural) with fields for addresses, contacts, and key features. However, it feels a bit generic right now. I'm wondering how others have really adapted these tools to fit their specific workflow and, importantly, their region.
For example, navigating filming permits or understanding local location nuances varies hugely. How do you integrate that practical, region-specific info into your digital libraries? Are there particular fields or linked tables you've found invaluable for, say, tracking permits in a given city, or noting specific access challenges unique to your area? I am really curious how experienced folks make these tools truly useful beyond just a photo gallery.
