Burn-ins for Sync: Workflow Integration with External Sound/Edit?
Hey everyone,
I'm a location scout, and while I'm not directly on set running cameras, I'm often involved in the initial discussions and understand how crucial precise information is down the line. I'm finding myself increasingly involved in post-production conversations, especially regarding handover to external sound mixers and editors. The recent discussions about reference video specs and burn-ins for sound have really got me thinking about optimizing our workflow.
Specifically, for those of you regularly working with outside sound mixers and picture editors, what specific burn-ins have you found most effective to prevent sync issues? My last project involved a lot of multi-cam (V-RAPTOR XL and AMIRA) with complex audio setups and despite our best efforts, a few minor sync hiccups still popped up later. We were doing basic timecode, but I'm wondering if there's more I should push for.
Are there any unique burn-in approaches or specialized tools that you've integrated into your personal workflow that have made a significant difference? I'm looking for practical, real-world applications here. Thanks in advance for any insights!
