How is AI shaping the Production Designer's role?

Hey everyone, as a Stunt Coordinator, I'm always looking at how the different departments are adapting to new tech. I'm currently prepping a sci-fi action sequence that needs some really wild environment concepts, and our PD is using Midjourney a lot more for early visuals.

It makes me wonder, with tools like that becoming standard, is the Production Designer's role shifting from solely a hands-on artist to more of a 'creative director' of AI? I'm seeing incredible concepts generated, but I'm curious what new skills are becoming essential for them. Are they still sketching as much, or is it more about prompt engineering and curation now?

What are your thoughts or experiences with this evolving dynamic?
