AI Voice Clones for ADR: Changing My Workflow?

Posted by Annika Braun in Post-Production 0 views · 3 replies

Hey everyone,

I'm Annika, an Editor, and I've been really curious about how AI tools, specifically ElevenLabs, are impacting our post-production workflows. We just wrapped a narrative short, shot on an AMIRA with Zeiss CP.3s, and had a few lines we absolutely needed for ADR. Our shoot sound, mostly with an MKH 416 into a MixPre-6 II, was almost perfect, but you know how it goes.

Now, with the prospect of generating actor voice clones, I'm genuinely wondering: how has this changed your approach to planning for dialogue replacement? Are you factoring it into your budgets now, perhaps allocating less for traditional ADR sessions? Or are you finding it's more of a backup? I'm trying to wrap my head around the practical implications for budgeting and scheduling, and would love to hear your experiences.
