Airtable/Notion for Location Libraries: Your Workflow?
Hey everyone,
I'm Aiden Cross, a UPM, currently prepping a feature in the Pacific Northwest. I'm trying to streamline our location scouting and management process, and I've been looking into tools like Airtable and Notion for building a robust personal location library. I've set up a basic table in Airtable with fields for address, photos, contact, and some notes, but it feels a bit generic.
My region has some unique challenges, from specific permit requirements to variable weather impacting accessibility. I'm wondering how other UPMs and Location Managers have truly customized these platforms. Have you created specific views for different departments, like a 'VFX plate' view or 'Art Department prep' view? How do you track permitting stages or accessibility notes effectively? I’m particularly interested in managing multiple photos per location efficiently and linking them to specific features.
What are your go-to strategies for making these digital tools genuinely serve your specific process and regional needs?
