Real-World Media Management Chaos: Share Your Crisis Story & Fix!

Hey everyone, Rohan Kapoor here. We all know the textbook 'ideal' media management workflow, clear folder structures, triple backups, checksums, etc. But let’s be honest, on a tight commercial shoot or a fast-paced doc, things rarely go by the book. My last gig, a fast-turnaround campaign shot on an ALEXA 35 and a couple of a7S III bodies, had us running and gunning, with a DIT spread thin across multiple cards coming in simultaneously.

I’ve tried streamlining card dumps to a single raid with automated folder creation, but even then, a 'lost' card or a mislabeled folder can cause serious panic. What's one specific media management crisis moment you've faced on a rushed set with limited crew? And more importantly, how did you adapt your 'ideal' folder rules or backup strategy on the fly to prevent total disaster and keep things moving? Looking for practical, on-set solutions, not theoretical ones.
