Power Failures: Your Wildest On-Set Improv Stories?

Hey everyone,

I'm Raj Patel, a focus puller, and I've been thinking a lot about power on set. We just wrapped a commercial where our generator started sputtering mid-shot with an ALEXA Mini, two SkyPanel S60-Cs, and an LS 600d Pro all drawing heavy. It threw us for a loop and we had to scramble, cutting non-essential power and hot-swapping batteries on the ALEXA while the gaffer tried to get the genny stable. We got the shot, but it was close.

I've seen the ideal guides for location power, but let's be real, sets are rarely ideal. What's the craziest real-world power situation you've faced (totally unexpected grid failures, a generator dying completely) and how did your crew improvise on the fly? Critically, how did you maintain safety while still getting the shot? Looking for some war stories and practical takeaways.
