Future of Sync: Burn-ins and Reference Specs in an AI/Cloud-Integrated World?
Hey everyone, as a stunt coordinator, I'm constantly reviewing fight pre-vis, rehearsals, and dailies from our second units. We're currently shooting a high-octane series using an ALEXA 35 and a V-RAPTOR XL for different units, often with multiple cameras and Sound Devices 833s on the go. My current workflow relies heavily on burn-ins showing timecode, camera unit, and even frame counts to prevent sync disputes later.
With AI becoming so pervasive, cloud-based editing gaining traction, and things like integrated camera/sound systems evolving, I'm starting to wonder: how do you all see this impacting our approach to 'reference video specs for sound' and those critical 'burn-ins that prevent sync disputes' in the next 5-10 years? Are certain burn-ins becoming obsolete, or are new ones emerging as essential that I should be thinking about for future projects? What's your take on where this is all headed?
