Evolving Dialogue Workflow: AI Tools + ADR Blending?
Hey everyone,
I'm an AD, and we’re on post for a feature shot on an ALEXA 35 and an AMIRA. The director is super particular about performances, and while we got solid takes with our MixPre-10 II and 4017 boom, some location noise was just unavoidable. We're doing a fair bit of ADR, but I'm trying to make sure it blends perfectly with the production sound.
Historically, I've relied on meticulous EQ and levels to match ADR with location sound, sometimes even foley for texture. But with tools like iZotope RX getting so powerful for cleaning up production audio, and performance matchers like Revoice Pro for syncing ADR, I'm genuinely curious.
For those of you handling dialogue editing, how has your personal workflow integrated these AI-driven tools with your traditional ADR blending techniques? Are you using them to augment, replace, or something else entirely?
