Justifying Eco-Budgets to Producers, Help!

Hey everyone,

I'm Lucas, a gaffer, and I'm really struggling with something. I firmly believe in making our sets more sustainable, not just for the environment but for the long-term health of our industry. On my last project, a period drama shot on an AMIRA, we managed to swap out some older HMIs for Forza 720Bs and SkyPanel X fixtures, which saved us a bit on generator fuel, but it was still a fight to get that approved.

Now I'm pitching on a new feature, aiming to get some proper sustainability measures in place. I want to suggest an 'eco-manager' role and upgrading our lighting package even further (think more Titan Tubes, more efficient LEDs) but I know the producer is super budget-conscious. Every dollar is scrutinized. I've tried framing it as long-term savings, but it's a tough sell against immediate upfront costs.

How do you guys successfully justify these kinds of 'green' expenditures to a producer who's watching every penny? What arguments genuinely land? I don't want to get shut down immediately.
