HDR on Set: What Traps Should I Be Wary Of?

Hey everyone, Tomáš here. We've been doing more HDR delivery lately, and while I understand the basics, I'm trying to wrap my head around the on-set implications from a gaffing perspective. On our last shoot with an ALEXA Mini and a V-RAPTOR XL, using a mix of LS 1200d Pros and Helios Tubes, I noticed some confusion. I'm trying to avoid critical pitfalls that might mess up post. Specifically, I'm concerned about treating HDR as simply 'brighter SDR,' or issues stemming from grading SDR-first. Also, I've seen situations where Rec.709 LUTs might get mistakenly fed into HDR monitors on set, which feels fundamentally wrong. What are the most crucial mistakes I need to look out for on set, particularly from my department's viewpoint, to ensure a smooth HDR workflow?
