Bridging the Budget Gap: Pro Results with Mirrorless and Zooms?

Hey everyone, I'm Diana Ruiz-Perez, a working AD/Producer, and I've got a genuine question buzzing in my head. I'm often scouting and budgeting for projects that can't quite stretch to an ALEXA Mini or a full Lectrosonics setup. We're talking more along the lines of a LUMIX S1H or a C70 for camera, and a Zoom F8 or even a Tascam Portacapture for audio.

I've seen some fantastic work come out of these more affordable setups when combined with smart lighting like an Aputure LS 300x or even a couple of Forza 500 IIs. My challenge, and where I'm hoping for some collective wisdom, is how to truly 'professionalize' the results when the core camera and audio aren't the top-tier FX6/Lectrosonics that some guides seem to assume you're using. Are there specific techniques, workflow tips, or even affordable accessory recommendations that truly elevate the output to compete with higher-end productions, assuming skilled operators? What's your secret sauce for getting that big-budget look and sound on a tight indie budget?
