Director of Photography (DP) for Drama Short

Hey there, fellow filmmakers! We're searching for a senior-level Director of Photography to join our independent production, an intimate drama short film shooting here in Albuquerque. This project explores themes of loss and reconciliation, with a focus on naturalistic lighting and evocative, character-driven visuals. We're aiming for a strong festival run. We need a DP who can not only light beautifully but also collaborate closely with the director to establish a consistent visual language. Your primary responsibilities will include executing the visual style, managing the camera department, and ensuring high-quality cinematography. You'll be expected to bring your preferred camera package, including a cinema camera, lenses, and basic lighting and grip gear suitable for a small set. We're looking for someone with significant experience (5+ years) on narrative shorts or features, a strong creative eye, and a portfolio that showcases your dramatic work. Please share your reel and any relevant past projects. Shoot dates are approximately 5-6 days, late July to early August. We anticipate 10-12 hour days. We'll be providing craft services, lunch, and per diem for all crew. Looking forward to seeing your work!
