1st Assistant Camera, Indie Feature
Hey Toronto ACs, we're looking for a skilled 1st AC for an upcoming independent feature film. It's a dark comedy, think Coen Brothers meets Wes Anderson, with a really unique visual style. We're aiming for a slightly off-kilter, heightened reality aesthetic that will lean heavily on precise blocking and camera work. We'll be shooting on an ALEXA Mini LF. Your main responsibilities will include pulling sharp focus, managing camera prep and breakdown, maintaining equipment, and working closely with our DP to execute their vision. We're keen to find someone proactive and detail-oriented who can keep our camera department running smoothly. Experience isn't strictly necessary if you've got a great attitude and a solid grasp of camera fundamentals. However, some prior experience on narrative sets is a definite plus. Please send over your resume and a brief cover letter outlining your experience and what you can bring to the team. If you have a reel demonstrating your work, even better! Approximate shoot dates are 3-4 weeks, sometime in late summer/early fall. We're looking at 10-12 hour days. We'll provide all camera, lens, and support equipment. Compensation is negotiable and competitive for an independent production. Excited to hear from you!
