Art Department for Short Film

I'm a Costume Designer working on an upcoming independent sci-fi fantasy short film and we're looking for an enthusiastic Art Department Assistant to join our small, dedicated crew. This is a volunteer role perfect for someone looking to get their foot in the door and gain hands-on experience on a visually rich project. We're crafting a unique world with a dark, magical atmosphere, blending ethereal beauty with subtle futuristic elements. As our Art Department Assistant, you'll be helping the Production Designer with set dressing, prop fabrication, sourcing, and general on-set support. This could involve everything from painting small set pieces to organizing props and helping with mood boards. No specific gear is required, just a willingness to learn and jump in. We're looking for someone organized, creative, and a good team player. Any prior experience in art, craft, or design is a bonus, but not essential. Please share a brief resume or tell us about your relevant interests. Shoot dates are provisionally set for early/mid-July, spread across 3-4 days in various London locations. Exact hours will vary per day, but expect full days. Meals and travel within London will be covered, and you'll receive a copy of the finished film and valuable set experience.
