Art Department for Music Video

Hey Austin art department pros, I’m putting together a crew for an upcoming music video and looking for a talented, experienced Art Director to head up our creative team. This is for an indie alt-rock artist, think gritty, vibrant, and a bit surreal, with a strong narrative thread. We're aiming for something visually striking that really pushes the boundaries of a typical music video. Your main responsibilities will include collaborating with the Director on visual concepts, designing and overseeing set builds, prop sourcing, wardrobe direction, and generally bringing our artistic vision to life on set. We're looking for someone with a strong portfolio showcasing their ability to create impactful, imaginative spaces on an independent budget. We need someone with several years of experience as an Art Director, or a similar senior art department role, ideally on music videos or short-form narratives. Please share your reel or a portfolio link so we can see your work. Knowledge of local Austin resources for props and materials is a big plus. Shoot dates are approximately late July / early August, likely across 3-4 days, with pre-production work starting sooner. We'll provide craft services, a positive work environment, and plenty of creative freedom. Compensation is points participation plus a deferred payment structure. Excited to hear from you!
