Art Assistant, Brooklyn Doc (Volunteer)
Hey filmmakers, I'm a motion graphics artist working on an upcoming independent documentary project here in Brooklyn and I'm looking for a passionate Art Assistant to join the crew. This film explores the vibrant, often unseen, independent arts scene in NYC, focusing on the unique challenges and triumphs of emerging artists. It's a visually driven piece, aiming for a raw, authentic, and intimate look at creativity in the city. We're hoping to highlight some truly inspiring stories and we need someone with a good eye to help bring our vision to life. As our Art Assistant, you'll be helping with set dressing and prop sourcing. This means anything from tracking down specific vintage items to helping arrange locations to capture the right mood. You'll be working closely with me to maintain the visual aesthetic throughout the shoot. No specific gear is required, but an understanding of basic set principles and a willingness to get hands-on are a must. Entry-level experience is totally fine, this is a great chance to build your portfolio and gain documentary experience. A portfolio or examples of any creative work, even if not film-related, would be a plus. Shoot dates are flexible and will primarily be on weekends over the next 2-3 months, roughly 4-6 hours per day when we're shooting. We're a small, dedicated team, so while this is a volunteer position, you'll be an integral part of the process and gain valuable set experience. Snacks and good company will be provided!
