1st AD for Sci-Fi Feature

Hey everyone, Bryce here. Looking for a seasoned 1st Assistant Director for an upcoming independent sci-fi feature shooting here in Austin. This isn't your typical space opera; think more grounded, character-driven narrative with a unique, unsettling tone. We're aiming for something thought-provoking that sticks with you long after the credits roll. Your primary role will be keeping us on schedule, anticipating issues, and managing the cast and crew flow. We need someone who can efficiently build tight schedules, communicate effectively with all department heads, and maintain a positive, productive set environment. Experience with independent features (especially in the sci-fi or thriller genres) and a strong ability to problem-solve on the fly are essential. Please include a link to your reel or resume showcasing past 1st AD work. Shoot dates are approximately 4-5 weeks, likely late August or early September 2026. Expect long days, but we're committed to providing reasonable turnaround. We'll be providing all craft services and production insurance. Compensation is TBD, depending on experience.
