CREW NEEDED FOR FEATURE DOCUMENTARY ABOUT BLIND VETERANS

I am looking for a small group of filmmakers to help me bring an important documentary to life.

The film follows blind and visually impaired veterans and the people closest to them. At its heart is a simple idea: helping someone should begin by asking what they actually need.

This is not a film about defining people by what they have lost. It is about who they are, how they live, the relationships that shape them, and the dignity of being trusted to make their own choices.

I will direct and shoot the documentary, but I need a dependable team around me who genuinely connects with the story and wants to help build the film.

I am looking for:

• Producer • Production Sound Mixer • First Assistant Camera and Media Manager • Production Assistant or Local Fixer • Lighting Technician with lighting and grip experience • Editor • Colorist • Composer

The Producer will be my closest creative and organizational partner. I need someone who can take ownership of scheduling, logistics, budgeting, releases, crew coordination, fundraising support, and the eventual festival and distribution strategy.

The field crew will remain intentionally small so that we can work closely with our participants without overwhelming them. I am looking for people who are calm, adaptable, respectful, reliable, and comfortable working with sensitive personal stories.

Filming will begin in Biloxi, Mississippi, in March 2027. Additional filming may take place in Washington, DC. The Editor, Colorist, and Composer can work remotely.

Compensation

This is currently a backend participation project without guaranteed upfront payment. Every crew member’s responsibilities, credit, revenue participation, and payment terms will be discussed openly and documented in writing before work begins.
