Gaffer for Sci-Fi Independent Feature

Seeking a talented and experienced Gaffer for an upcoming independent sci-fi feature film. This project is a gritty, atmospheric story exploring themes of survival and isolation on a distant outpost. We're aiming for a visually striking, high-concept look that's grounded in naturalism. As Gaffer, you'll be responsible for designing and executing the lighting plan, collaborating closely with the DP to achieve our desired aesthetic. This will involve managing all electrical equipment, overseeing the lighting crew, and ensuring safety on set. We're looking for someone with significant feature film experience (5+ projects), a strong understanding of various lighting techniques, and the ability to work creatively within independent production constraints. Please submit your reel and a brief list of gear you'd typically bring. Our approximate shoot dates are late August to mid-September, with a 12-hour day average. Breakfast, lunch, and craft services will be provided daily. This is a deferred compensation opportunity, with points and deferred pay.
