Gaffer for Commercial Shoot (Brooklyn)

Hey everyone, I'm a screenwriter in Brooklyn looking for a talented Gaffer to join a small, independent production team for an upcoming commercial project. This particular spot is for a local artisan coffee shop, aiming for a warm, inviting, and slightly whimsical vibe. We're thinking lots of natural light integration, soft fills, and some playful practicals to really capture the cozy atmosphere. It's an interesting creative challenge to make a coffee shop feel visually distinct. Your main responsibilities will include helping develop the lighting plan with our DP, setting up and striking all lighting equipment, and ensuring everything runs smoothly and safely on set. We're looking for someone who can bring their own basic kit (stands, stingers, gels, flags, etc.) though we'll be renting any specialized fixtures as needed. Experience on commercial sets is a plus, but we're open to all experience levels if you've got a great attitude and a solid understanding of lighting principles. Send over a reel or some work samples if you have them. Shoot dates are approximate, thinking late June for 1-2 days, likely 10-12 hour days. Lunch and craft services will be provided on set, of course. This is a paid gig, 300-500/day depending on experience. Really excited to collaborate with someone creative on this!
