Screenwriting for Feature Film
Hey filmmakers, I'm helping an indie production team find a seasoned screenwriter for an upcoming horror feature. This isn't your typical jump-scare flick, we're aiming for something more in the psychological horror vein, exploring themes of isolation and inherited trauma with a subtle, unnerving tone. Think 'Hereditary' meets 'The Babadook.' You'll be responsible for developing the full screenplay from an existing treatment, collaborating closely with the director and producer to refine the narrative, flesh out characters, and craft genuinely disturbing sequences. We're looking for someone who understands pacing in horror, can build tension without constant gore, and can deliver compelling, character-driven scares. We need someone with several produced feature film credits, specifically in the horror or elevated thriller genre. Please provide a link to your portfolio or produced work with your application. Availability from late October through early December is key, though the exact dates are flexible. This is a full-time commitment during that period. Compensation is $1000-1500 per day, based on experience and negotiation. We're based in NYC, so local candidates are preferred, but we're open to remote for the right fit, with occasional in-person meetings required. This is a fantastic opportunity to really dig into a unique horror vision. Looking forward to seeing your work!
