Locations Assistant, Short Film

Hey filmmakers, I'm a screenwriter looking for a motivated Locations Assistant for my upcoming short film, a grounded sci-fi drama set in present-day Brooklyn about a woman grappling with a mysterious discovery. It's a character-driven story with a touch of the uncanny. We need someone to help scout and secure some key locations around Brooklyn, primarily for interiors (apartments, cafes) and some limited exteriors. Your main responsibilities will involve research, outreach to potential property owners, assisting with permits if needed, and managing location logistics on set. This is an entry-level position perfect for someone looking to get their foot in the door on an independent production. No specific gear is required from your end, but a strong sense of organization, good communication skills, and a willingness to hit the pavement are essential. Experience with location scouting or production assisting is a plus, but passion and a can-do attitude are most important. We're planning to shoot for approximately 3-4 days in late summer/early fall. You'll be compensated $300-$500 per day, depending on experience.
