Camera Operator, Documentary Feature

Documentary Production Vancouver, BC any Budget: $200-400/day

Hey Vancouver crew, I'm helping out an independent production with an upcoming documentary feature and we're looking for a sharp Camera Operator. This project is a really compelling look into extreme sports athletes, focusing on their mental resilience and the unique community they've built. We're aiming for a raw, immersive, and candid style, so someone with a good eye for capturing unscripted moments would be perfect. You'll be working closely with the director and DP to execute their vision, operating a secondary camera (likely a Canon C-series or similar) to cover action and B-roll. We're looking for someone who can work efficiently, adapt to fast-paced environments, and contribute creatively to the visual storytelling. Experience with documentary run-and-gun setups is a plus, but if you're enthusiastic and have a solid reel demonstrating your camera skills, we encourage you to apply. We're open to various experience levels. Please include a link to your work if you have one. Shoot dates are approximately late June to late July, likely 10-hour days. We'll provide lunch, snacks, and travel reimbursement for locations outside the Vancouver core. This is a paid position, $200-400/day depending on experience. Looking forward to hearing from you!
