Gaffer (Senior) for Feature Film, Miami FL

Hey film fam, we're gearing up for an independent psychological thriller feature shooting here in Miami. It's a character-driven story with a really intense, dark tone, and we're looking for a seasoned Gaffer to help us craft the visual atmosphere. You'll be working closely with our DP and director to implement complex lighting setups and achieve our specific aesthetic vision. This isn't just about turning on lights, it's about shaping the mood and enhancing the narrative. We need someone with extensive feature film experience, particularly in creating nuanced, dramatic lighting for suspenseful scenes. Expertise with various lighting units, power distribution, and a strong understanding of safety protocols are a must. Please come prepared with your own lighting package suitable for a feature, and be ready to share your reel demonstrating your Gaffer work. Shoot dates are approximately 25-30 days, starting late October. We'll be working 10-12 hour days, and while we're a lean crew, we provide catering, craft services, and a great vibe. This is a chance to put your mark on an exciting independent project. Day rate is $1000-1500, commensurate with experience and gear.
