Cinematography for Short Film

I'm Liam Hartigan, a focus puller, and we're looking for a talented Gaffer for an upcoming independent drama short film, shooting in Dublin. Our project is a character-driven piece, exploring themes of familial tension and reconciliation, with a naturalistic yet visually striking aesthetic. We're aiming for a grounded, intimate feel with room for evocative lighting. As our Gaffer, you'll be responsible for executing the lighting plan, leading a small lighting team, maintaining equipment, and ensuring safety on set. You'll work closely with our DP to translate their vision into effective illumination. We need someone with mid-level experience on short films or similar projects, a strong understanding of various lighting techniques, and the ability to problem-solve creatively on a budget. Please have your own basic kit, though we will be renting additional specialized gear as needed. We're looking at approximately 3-4 shoot days, likely in late July or early August, exact dates TBD. Days will be 10-12 hours. We'll provide lunch, snacks, and travel reimbursement within Dublin. Please send over your reel or examples of your previous Gaffer work.
